July Artist - Anna Duyunova

The artists in Anna was triggered by an attraction for coloured pencil crayons at a young age. She tells us her sister created a puppet-show theatre from carton and paper, and her cousin made an army of paper soldiers and a castle to play with. “We basically drew and created toys …we liked to create our own world, making up stories, and learned to be creative this way.” Her play with pencils continued for years, through a number of art studios, later leading her to Alma’s Ata Fine Art and Theatre Institute, (re-named Fine Art and Theatre Academy), where Anna attained a degree in Fine Art and Design after five years of academic studies.

http://www.timesofyouth.com/2015/05/anna-duyunova-artwork.html

My name is Anna Duyunova. I am Canadian artist. My art always comes from the heart. It is my personal experience and power to speak about lyrics and dramatic poetry of life by art.

For me, art is not an imitation of nature. I create works with a combination of reality and wonderland, painting landscapes and portraits with mystery and realism, and showing the enhancement of nature. In my works, I want to evoke feelings and new thoughts, induce old memories and dreams to show the beauty of ordinary things. My passion is to express myself with pen and ink and make acrylic paint speak on my behalf.

Until 1998, I was living in Kazakhstan, where I was introduced to European and Asian cultures. I took my first art education in variety of Art Studios and workshops, and continued to study Fine Art for five years in Alma-Ata State Institute of Fine Art, Theatre and Design. I graduated from Alma-Ata...
